Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy has been a safe and effective injectable treatment for unsightly spider veins that appear on the surface of your skin since the 1930s. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Vivianne Lubrano, RN, performs sclerotherapy treatments to erase these web-like lines and alleviate symptoms like aching and swelling. If you live in the Houston area and want to learn more about this successful and trusted procedure, book an appointment online or by phone at Vintage Wellness.

Sclerotherapy Q & A

What are spider veins?

Spider veins are dilated blood vessels that form small lines on the surface of your skin, typically in web-like patterns.

Technically called telangiectasia, spider veins are often red, blue, or purple. They're mainly a cosmetic concern, not a medical one, and are most likely to appear on your face and legs.

Spider veins are common, with 60% of women and men developing them in their lifetime.

Although spider veins can form on anyone, they're most often seen in women over the age of 50. Other risk factors include: Hormonal influences, including puberty, pregnancy, and menopause; Hormone replacement therapy; Hormonal birth control; Heredity; Standing for long periods of time; Obesity; Constipation; Smoking.

What is sclerotherapy?

During sclerotherapy, your Vintage Wellness provider injects a solution into your spider veins.

The solution irritates the interior lining of your vein, and it eventually collapses. When that occurs, the blood clots, the vein becomes scar tissue, and it disappears.

After sclerotherapy, your spider veins don't fade immediately.

You can notice and enjoy the full results within a month of treatment.

In addition to eliminating the appearance of your spider veins

Sclerotherapy also relieves any symptoms they create, including: Itching, Sores, Rashes.

What can you expect during a sclerotherapy treatment?

You're likely to be quite comfortable during a sclerotherapy treatment, but it's possible to feel minor stinging or a cramping feeling.

You shouldn't be in excessive pain.

In this simple procedure, first, your provider injects the solution.

Then, they compress and massage the area to disperse the solution.

You shouldn't have any problems standing or walking following the procedure, and the Vintage Wellness team encourages you to walk to reduce your risk of developing blood clots.

Expect to wear compression socks or bandages for a couple of weeks after your treatment.

Sclerotherapy is safe, and studies have shown that 60%-80% of treated veins disappear.

You may require more than one treatment to achieve your desired results.

To discover if sclerotherapy is right for you, schedule a consultation at Vintage Wellness by calling the office or booking online.

IPL Photo Facial

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, hair removal using intense pulsed light (IPL™) and IPL photorejuvenation were among the top five nonsurgical cosmetic procedures in 2015. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics in Houston, Texas, certified esthetician Jessica Acosta performs hair removal and IPL procedures, enhancing your skin and improving its appearance. To learn more about IPL or see if you're a candidate, call the office or go online to book an appointment.

IPL Photo Facial Q & A

What is IPL?

IPL stands for intense pulsed light.

An IPL photofacial, also spelled fotofacial, uses intense pulses of light to penetrate your skin and cause collagen and blood vessels to constrict, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and redness.

IPL for skin rejuvenation is among the most innovative techniques available at Vintage Wellness.

It works particularly well if you have lighter-toned skin, though women and men with darker skin may also be good candidates.

IPL is gentle, safe, and leaves your skin radiant.

This procedure is most beneficial for the following problems: Sun damage, Large pores, Freckles, Wrinkles, Acne scars, Rosacea.

IPL treatments are noninvasive and require no downtime.

You may experience mild discomfort following the procedure, such as slight swelling and redness, but these symptoms dissipate quickly. Expect your results to become increasingly apparent in the days and weeks following the treatment.

What are Venus Versa™ treatments?

Venus Versa photofacial treatments are a precise and effective method to improve the look of sun-damaged skin.

These treatments use IPL technology to deliver energy to the targeted areas without causing harm to the surrounding tissue.

You're likely to be a good candidate if you want to correct any of the following

Visible veins, Brown spots, Uneven pigmentation, Fine lines and wrinkles.

The team at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics are highly trained in using light and laser technology to deliver superior cosmetic results.

If you're looking for skin rejuvenation, schedule a consultation to find out if you're a candidate for these effective techniques. Book online or call the office today.

Weight Loss

Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the US, but physician-led treatments can help you lose weight. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, the professional and highly trained team can help you rid yourself of those excess pounds for good. If you live in or near Houston, Texas, it's time to find out if a medical weight loss program could work for you. To learn more about medical weight loss, schedule an appointment online or by phone at Vintage Wellness today.

Weight Loss Q & A

What is involved in a medical weight loss program?

Medical weight loss programs typically include prescription medication, special personalized diet plans, and dietary supplements.

Your Vintage Wellness provider recommends the appropriate program for you after considering your goals, needs, medical history, and other factors.

You receive a personalized weight loss treatment plan from your Vintage Wellness provider

Who also monitors your progress, adjusts your program as needed, answers your questions, and ensures your safety throughout the entire process.

Vintage Wellness offers several medical weight loss programs, including

HCG, Ideal Protein, Vitamin B12 and lipotropic injections.

What is the hCG diet?

hCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone produced during pregnancy.

You will receive an HCG cream that is applied to your inner wrists. By applying the hCG cream in combination with eating a low-calorie diet, you trigger your hypothalamus gland to start burning your excess fat storages for energy. This stimulates your weight loss and allows you to drop pounds quickly.

On the hCG diet, you receive hCG and follow a rigorous diet plan in three phases

Days 1 and 2: Eat a lot of rich, fatty foods; Days 3 to 30: Eat a limited, 500-calorie-per-day diet; Maintenance phase: Eat food with a calorie count that maintains your weight.

What is Ideal Protein?

The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol helps you lose weight while learning to live a healthier lifestyle.

To help you accomplish these goals, Ideal Protein uses a four-stage system that limits the number of carbohydrates you eat to encourage your body to burn fat for energy.

The Ideal Protein program focuses on high biological protein foods, which support muscle mass and development.

This program also allows you to develop smart eating and lifestyle habits that can support a lifetime of healthy weight management, instead of leaving you wondering what's next when the diet's over.

After completing Ideal Protein, you can expect the following program benefits

Improved blood sugar; More energy, Better appetite control; A boost in pride and confidence; Extensive knowledge of how the body stores and uses fat; An understanding of micronutrients' role in weight loss.

How do lipotropic cocktail injections improve weight loss?

Maintaining the levels of vitamins and essential minerals in your body is critical to successful weight loss.

That's why your provider at Vintage Wellness may suggest supplement injections to help your body maintain a healthy balance during weight loss, including: Lipotropic agents to break down fat in your digestive tract; Choline, methionine, and inositol to promote healthy liver function and metabolism; Vitamin B12 to boost energy levels and promote cellular formation.

Your provider may recommend these injections alone or in combination with the hCG diet.

To learn more about physician-assisted weight loss, call the office today to schedule your initial appointment or book online.

MiraDry

If you're one of the approximately 4 million Americans with axillary hyperhidrosis -- excessive sweating of the underarms -- you need to know about miraDry®. At Houston's Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Vivianne Lubrano, RN, Certified Esthetician Jessica Acosta, and Medical Assistant Myriam Lopez, use this innovative procedure to end the burden and embarrassment of excessive underarm sweating permanently. To learn more about this cutting-edge procedure, book your initial consultation online or call the office.

miraDry Q & A

What is miraDry?

miraDry is a system that uses energy to destroy your underarm sweat glands

You may require more than one treatment initially, but after that, miraDry protects you permanently from excessive underarm sweat and the embarrassment it can cause.

Only about 2% of your body's sweat glands are found in the underarm area, so removing them doesn't do any harm.

Your body can still remove toxins and cool itself safely and effectively.

What is miraSmooth™?

As researchers studied miraDry, they noticed that patients receiving the treatment enjoyed drastically reduced hair growth, in addition to their lack of excessive sweating.

Because unwanted underarm hair is a common complaint, the company pursued that line of research and developed miraSmooth.

miraSmooth received clearance

From the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2015 and is the only system cleared for permanent reduction of underarm hair and elimination of excessive underarm sweating in one treatment.

What should you expect during a miraDry/miraSmooth treatment?

Before undergoing treatment

Schedule an initial consultation with a Vintage Wellness provider to determine whether you're a good candidate for the procedure and if it can bring you the results you desire.

First, your Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics provider marks your underarm to create a map of the treatment area and then numbers the area.

Next, they place the handpiece from the miraDry system against your skin. You may feel a slight suction during this part of the treatment.

The system then transmits energy through your skin to the sweat and odor glands beneath it, destroying them.

The whole process takes about one hour, and you can enjoy sweat- and hair-free underarms forever.

If you're embarrassed or experience discomfort due to underarm sweat or hair, schedule a consultation at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics to learn more about the miraDry and miraSmooth systems.

You can call the office or use the online booking tool.

BOTOX®

By 2015, more than 4 million Botox® (botulinum toxin) cosmetic procedures had been performed worldwide. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Vivianne Lubrano, RN offers safe and effective Botox injections to the Houston community to help smooth expression lines that form between the brows, on the forehead, and around the eyes. To learn more about Botox or other injectable skin treatments, book your appointment with Vintage Wellness online or by phone.

BOTOX® Q & A

What kinds of injectable treatments are available?

Various injectables smooth your unwanted lines and wrinkles, and they each function slightly differently.

The treatment that the Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center team recommends depends on your specific situation and skin care goals.

The injectables they offer include

DysportⓇ

Primarily used to smooth frown lines between your eyes, Dysport provides you with natural-looking results. After the treatment, your lines are minimized, but your expressions are not.

XeominⓇ

The active ingredient in Xeomin is the neurotoxin incobotulinumtoxinA. This injectable smooths the frown lines between your eyebrows. Xeomin is the first neurotoxin injectable on the market that doesn't require refrigeration.

Botox

Botox, like other neurotoxins, works by preventing the muscles that cause your wrinkles from contracting. Used correctly, this injectable prevents frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles. Botox has been regularly administered for more than a decade and is safe and effective.

What happens before and after an injectable treatment for wrinkles?

During your initial consultation with Vivianne Lubrano, RN, she discusses your goals, medical history, risks, and possible side effects, and what you can expect during the procedure.

When you arrive for your injectable treatment, you're shown to a private room.

Your provider prepares your injections and may have you make exaggerated facial expressions or mark the injection areas on your skin. They also may apply a numbing cream to minimize any discomfort.

After your treatment, you may notice some immediate results, but maximum benefits typically take a few days to appear.

The effects of the injections are temporary and may last for several months. Eventually, to maintain the effect, you require subsequent injections.

Which type of injectable is right for you?

Each type of injectable treatment has its pros and cons.

The Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center team discusses your options and makes recommendations based on your skin and lifestyle.

If you have specific questions or concerns, schedule a consultation to ask questions.

All the providers are happy to address any concerns you may have and help you make a well-informed decision regarding injectables to smooth lines and wrinkles. To schedule your initial consultation, go online or call Vintage Wellness today.

Microneedling

If the idea of stimulating your body's natural processes to obtain radiant, smooth skin appeals to you, microneedling with or without platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy may help you achieve your anti-aging goals. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics in Houston, Medical Assistant Myriam Lopez and Certified Esthetician Jessica Acosta provide treatments that improve the look and feel of your skin. Schedule an appointment today by calling the office or going online.

Microneedling Q & A

What is microneedling?

During a microneedling procedure, your Vintage Wellness provider uses a special device equipped with very fine needles to create many tiny puncture wounds in your skin.

These micro-injuries stimulate your skin's natural healing response, resulting in rejuvenated, healthier skin.

By inciting your body's ability to heal

Microneedling increases the production of collagen and elastin, proteins that support your skin and structural tissues, leading to skin that looks smoother and more luminous. After healing from a microneedling treatment, you and your skin appear more youthful.

Although few risks are associated with microneedling, some men and women aren't candidates for this procedure.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy offers an innovative way to improve your skin by using your own body's regenerative ability.

To begin the treatment, your Vintage Wellness provider withdrawals a vial of your blood and places it in a centrifuge, where it spins, separating the growth factors and platelets from the rest of the blood.

Next, Medical Assistant Myriam Lopez or Certified Esthetician Jessica Acosta prepare the plasma and the microneedling device.

In some cases, she may smooth the solution over your skin then use the microneedling device. This process pushes the PRP deep into your skin, where the micro-injuries occur.

Microneedling with the regenerative solution stimulates and enhances your healing process.

The growth factors and proteins in the PRP draw stem cells to the area and provide the skin with everything it needs to renew.

Why do microneedling and PRP work well together?

Microneedling triggers your body's natural healing responses, and PRP adds growth factors that enhance those healing responses.

For instance, microneedling stimulates collagen production, and PRP accelerates it.

The combination of microneedling and PRP can

Reduce fine lines and wrinkles; Reduce sun damage; Reduce acne scarring; Tighten skin around the eyes, neck, and chest; Improve skin texture; Reduce under-eye circles.

Not everyone is a candidate for microneedling and PRP.

If you're curious about this procedure or have specific questions about how it might affect your skin, schedule a consultation at Vintage Wellness today by calling or going online.

Facials And Chemical Peels

A professional facial can mean a variety of dermatological treatments, from a deep cleanse to a chemical peel. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Medical Assistant Myriam Lopez and Certified Esthetician Jessica Acosta offer a variety of facials to meet your specific skin care needs. If you live in the Houston area and have questions about which treatments are likely to help you achieve your goals, schedule an appointment online or by phone to learn more about the options available.

Facials and Chemical Peels Q & A

What is a HydraFacial?

One of the most popular services at Vintage Wellness, the HydraFacial is a three-step facial that takes about 30 minutes and gives you immediate and visible results.

The first step includes cleaning and exfoliating your face to reveal a fresh layer of healthy skin.

Next, your Vintage Wellness provider gently removes dirt and dead skin cells from your pores, and then hydrates and moisturizes your skin. During the final step of the HydraFacial, they saturate the surface of your skin with antioxidants and peptides to leave your face glowing and luminous.

HydraFacial is appropriate for all skin types and addresses a variety of skin problems

Fine lines and wrinkles; Elasticity and firmness; Tone and vibrancy; Texture; Brown spots; Oily skin; Enlarged pores.

What are the benefits of doing LED light therapy with facials?

To achieve maximum results, your provider at Vintage Wellness may recommend LED light therapy in addition to your facial.

This light energy therapy uses natural photobiochemical reactions to improve your skin ailments.

Depending on your goals, your skin specialist may suggest a red LED treatment.

The red light focuses on cellular rejuvenation and improves skin's texture and appearance, making it look youthful.

In other cases, blue LED therapy may be the best option.

The blue light eliminates the bacteria responsible for acne and breakouts.

What are the types of chemical peels?

If you're ready to have your best skin ever, call Vintage Wellness today or go online to schedule your appointment. Generally speaking, a chemical peel is a mixture of chemicals applied to the skin that makes it peel off, revealing new, healthy skin. Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics offers two broad types of chemical peels:

Mild chemical peels

Mild chemical peels alleviate dry skin, address uneven pigmentation, and help control acne. They require minimal downtime and are the least abrasive.

Medium chemical peels

Medium depth peels use a higher concentration of the same chemicals as mild peels. This type of peel works well if you have lighter-toned skin and want to correct the following: Skin changes due to sun damage; Hyperpigmentation; Moderately deep wrinkles visible when your face is at rest. After the procedure, your skin may be red and swollen for a week or two. As your skin heals, you see a noticeable difference and enjoy the results.

Juvederm/Other Fillers

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, more than 1 million women and men in the US have dermal filler treatments each year. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, you can have this popular treatment, too. In the Houston office, Vivianne Lubrano, RN, offers these cost-effective procedures that let you look younger without downtime. If you're considering using Juvederm® or other dermal fillers, schedule an appointment online or by calling Vintage Wellness today.

Juvederm/Other Fillers Q & A

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers, also called "wrinkle fillers," are injectable, soft, gel-like substances. Dermal fillers smooth the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as add volume to your cheeks, lips, and the backs of your hands. They may draw moisture to your treatment area or increase the production of collagen, a skin-supporting protein.

Which dermal fillers are available at Vintage Wellness?

Vintage Wellness offers Juvederm and several other fillers, some of which include: Restylane®; Restylane Lyft™; Restylane Refyne™; Restylane Defyne™; Revanesse® Versa™; Bellafill®; Radiesse®. The filler that's best for you depends on several factors, such as your skin type, appearance goals, and medical history. Your Vintage Wellness provider makes a recommendation based on your specific situation.

What are the differences among dermal fillers?

The formulas and optimal uses of dermal fillers vary, and your skin specialist recommends dermal fillers based on your skin type and goals. Here's a run-down of what you can expect from Juvederm and the other fillers offered at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics:

Juvederm

All the products in the Juvederm line use hyaluronic acid and are designed to add volume to different parts of your face, including the: Lips, Cheeks, Crow's feet, Frown lines, Smile lines

Restylane

Restylane and its accompanying products use hyaluronic acid filler for the lips and cheeks and to fill fine lines or deep wrinkles. Restylane products are designed to allow your face to be expressive and animated.

Revanesse Versa

Versa is a hyaluronic acid filler specifically formulated to provide results with minimal swelling and is injected with a superfine needle.

Bellafill

Bellafill uses polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) in a collagen gel, rather than hyaluronic acid. PMMA encourages your body to produce collagen, adding volume and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Rather than fading within a few months, your results should continue to improve for years; as many as 83% of women and men report satisfaction five years after treatment.

Radiesse

Radiesse uses a collagen gel to stimulate natural collagen production, but instead of PMMA, it contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). Fillers containing CaHA are somewhat thicker than dermal fillers that use PMMA or hyaluronic acid and are more suitable for deeper lines and wrinkles.

Microblading

If the idea of eyebrow tattooing is intriguing, but you aren't ready for a permanent commitment, consider microblading, a semi-permanent approach to thicker, natural-looking eyebrows. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Medical Assistant, Myriam Lopez, and Certified Esthetician, Jessica Acosta, can give you the brows you've dreamed of without surgery or tattooing. If you live in the Houston area and want to learn more about this technique, contact the team at Vintage Wellness: Call today or go online to book your appointment and say goodbye to drawn on brows.

Microblading Q & A

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent, natural way to enhance your eyebrows. Better than a tattoo for creating brows, these two techniques have fundamental differences.

Your Vintage Wellness provider uses a microblading tool with multiple tiny needles to create shallow cuts in your skin.

Then, the pigment seeps into the tiny cuts. By contrast, when you get a tattoo, the pigment is injected.

The fine needles used in microblading mean that your provider can create tiny, exact, hair-like lines.

With this precise cosmetic technique, you enjoy a much more natural-looking brow than achieved through conventional tattooing.

Second, microblading isn't permanent.

You can expect the results to last for 1-3 years. The rate at which the pigment fades and how long that takes depends on your skin type and how well your skin holds pigmentation.

Does microblading hurt?

The sensations you feel during your microblading procedure are likely to range from no pain to the feeling of being scratched.

To ensure your comfort, your Vintage Wellness provider applies a numbing cream to the area before starting the treatment.

How long does microblading take?

Microblading is not - nor should it be - a fast process.

Your provider artfully draws each line, so you know what the result looks like, ensuring they're the full brows you desire. This cosmetic procedure takes up to 90 minutes, depending on how sparse your natural brows are and your goals.

One treatment and one follow-up visit are typically all you need to achieve your desired results.

To maintain your new look, come in every six months for touch-ups, which go much faster than the first treatment.

What should you expect after microblading?

Other than expecting to wake up with perfect eyebrows

You must carefully follow the after-care instructions from the Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center team, especially for the first few days, which are the most critical.

You must keep your eyebrows away from any moisture: No washing your face with water or getting extra sweaty.

Some mild swelling and redness is normal and dissipates quickly.

Apply the ointment that the office prescribes in the days following treatment as directed.

If you experience itchiness, petroleum jelly can help.

For a semi-permanent eyebrow treatment that improves the volume and shape of your eyebrows, try microblading.

NovaThreads

If a minimally-invasive facelift that requires no downtime seems like the perfect answer to your aging concerns, you need to learn about NovaThreads. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Vivianne Lubrano, RN, uses this innovative technique to help you look and feel younger. If you live in or around Houston and want to know what NovaThreads can do for you, contact Vintage Wellness: Call the office today to book an appointment or go online.

NovaThreads Q & A

What are Novathreads?

NovaThreads are hypodermic needles preloaded with surgical sutures made of polydioxanone (PDO).

PDO sutures are one of the safest materials implanted into the body and used in sensitive procedures like open-heart surgery.

The PDO sutures in NovaThreads have small barbs which lift your skin and stimulate your body to make collagen.

They fully absorb into your body in 4-6 months and don't leave scar tissue.

How can a PDO thread lift procedure improve your appearance?

NovaThreads treatments lift your skin and are a non-surgical facelift alternative.

If you have sagging skin at your jowls, mid-face, or brows, NovaThreads may be the right treatment for you.

There are two main ways that a NovaThreads treatment improves your appearance: lifting the skin and stimulating collagen production.

The "barbs" in the threads pull your skin up, and the slight wound caused by inserting the threads stimulates your body to produce collagen, maintaining the lift of the threads.

What can you expect before, during, and after a NovaThreads procedure?

Here are the basics of what you can expect before, during, and after your NovaThreads procedure at Vintage Wellness:

Before the NovaThreads procedure

Your Vintage Wellness provider evaluates the particulars of your situation and discusses your expectations and general health. They may prescribe an antibiotic to reduce any possibility of infection and provide instructions about taking medications and supplements before the procedure.

During the NovaThreads procedure

Depending on your situation, your provider may use a local anesthetic to make you more comfortable during the procedure, which may between 35-60 minutes.

After the NovaThreads procedure

You can see some results instantly, but the full effect of the NovaThreads treatment becomes apparent within 2-3 weeks. Slight swelling and bruising are common side effects. Although the threads disintegrate within a few months, the improved collagen production they stimulate means you'll continue to see results well after the treads are gone. To learn more about NovaThreads and find out if you're a candidate for this anti-aging procedure, schedule an appointment at Vintage Wellness. Call or go online to book.

CoolSculpting

If some parts of your body refuse to respond to exercise no matter how hard you try, CoolSculptingⓇ treatments may offer you a solution that works. At Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics, Medical Assistant Myriam Lopez offers innovative body contouring procedures that eliminate unwanted fat for good, without surgery or medication. To learn more about these innovative treatments and what they can do for you, call Vintage Wellness today. You can book your initial consultation online or by phone.

Coolsculpting Q & A

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting, also called "fat freezing," reduces fat cells through controlled cooling.

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this noninvasive procedure requires little-to-no downtime and is conveniently completed right in the Houston office.

CoolSculpting works by precisely targeting and freezing your unwanted fat cells.

The frozen cells die, and your body eliminates them through its normal body processes. The FDA cleared CoolSculpting for use on the following trouble spots: Abdomen; Love handles or muffin top; Double chin; Inner thigh; Outer thigh; Upper arm.

What should you expect during the procedure?

During a CoolSculpting procedure, Medical Assistant Myriam Lopez uses a machine featuring two panels that she places on your treatment area.

These panels deliver targeted, intense cold to the fat cells without damaging your skin or the surrounding tissue.

You may notice a suction sensation as the CoolSculpting device gently sucks in your skin to cool the targeted treatment area.

When the treatment first begins, you also may experience an extreme cooling sensation. This causes no discomfort and decreases as the treatment progresses.

During the treatment, as long as you don't disturb the panels, you can pass the time doing like you can read, play on your phone, or take a nap.

Most CoolSculpting treatments take between 35-60 minutes.

What results can you expect from CoolSculpting treatments?

Coolsculpting treatments can yield impressive results, especially when you maintain your current weight.

As long as you don't gain extra pounds, the results of your body contouring procedure remain permanent, giving you a leaner, slimmer, and smoother profile.

CoolSculpting treatments freeze your fat cells, damages their integrity, and cause their death.

Once they die, your body removes the fat cells and, unlike other cells, doesn't replace them. This process takes time: Your results start to emerge in about three weeks and reach maximum benefit after four to six months.

Because your fat cells aren't replaced, you enjoy permanent fat removal.

If you do gain weight, the fat cells that remain get larger, as do the rest of the fat cells in your body.

When your stubborn fat resists change, even with diet and exercise, schedule a consultation at Vintage Wellness.

Call the office today or go online to book your appointment and be one step closer to the body you've always wanted.

Venus Legacy Specialist

When the signs of aging change how you feel about your skin and body, it's time to seek help from the professional team at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics. With the cutting-edge technology available from Venus Legacy™, your Vintage Wellness provider can contour your body, reduce the appearance of cellulite, and tighten sagging skin, making you look and feel younger. If you're ready to look as young as you feel and live in or near Houston, call the office today or go online to schedule your initial consultation.

Venus Legacy Q & A

What is the Venus Legacy?

The Venus Legacy is a state-of-the-art procedure that reduces fat and cellulite, tightens skin, and boosts collagen production.

Specially designed to address and shrink pockets of stubborn fat and sagging skin, this innovative treatment reverses the hands of time, erasing age from your skin and waistline.

This device combines radiofrequency technology with pulsed electromagnetic fields to heat your fat cells and shrink their size

Stimulate collagen production, and regenerate fibroblasts, which play a vital role in creating skin structures.

What are the benefits of a Venus Legacy treatment?

As you age, your skin naturally begins to produce less collagen, a protein that supports your skin and its underlying structures.

With less collagen, your skin starts to sag and wrinkle.

What's more, the older you get, the harder it becomes to lose fat and cellulite.

Fortunately, you don't have to endure these signs of aging. With Venus Legacy treatments, you can: Diminish the appearance of cellulite; Reduce your target area's circumference; Tighten loose skin; Shape and contour your silhouette.

How long do the results from the Venus Legacy last?

Depending on the severity of your skin and your anti-aging goals, your Vintage Wellness provider may recommend six to eight Venus Legacy treatments to achieve optimal results.

You can eliminate fat, diminish cellulite, and smooth your skin in one easy treatment that requires no downtime.

Kybella

KybellaⓇ is an exciting new treatment option for addressing submental fullness, commonly known as a double chin. Now available at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center in Houston, this revolutionary treatment done by Vivianne Lubrano yields impressive results without the downsides of plastic surgery. If you'd like to learn more about Kybella, call or schedule an appointment online today.

Kybella Q & A

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to eliminate fat under your chin.

Here are just a few reasons to consider Kybella: You're unhappy with the profile of your chin; Stubborn fat deposits remain despite diet and exercise; You'd like results without the risks associated with surgery.

Many people feel that fat deposits below their chin make them look older or heavier than they are.

Kybella offers a minimally invasive way to reduce the appearance of a double chin.

How does Kybella work?

Kybella is an injectable medication made of synthetic deoxycholic acid, a substance naturally produced by your body.

Deoxycholic acid breaks down and absorbs fat from the foods you eat. It performs that same function when injected into the fat deposits under your chin.

During each appointment, your provider uses a tiny needle to deliver multiple Kybella injections, ensuring that the medication is distributed evenly throughout the treatment area.

Once injected, Kybella targets and destroys fat cells: They can no longer store or hold fat, which reduces or eliminates the appearance of a double chin.

Kybella has been the focus of more than 20 clinical studies in various countries around the world, and more than 1,600 individuals received Kybella treatment as part of that research.

In fact, it's the only FDA-cleared medication for treating submental fullness.

How many Kybella treatments do you need?

Every patient has a unique set of needs and goals, but you'll likely require multiple Kybella treatments.

During an initial consultation, you'll discuss your goals with your provider, who will estimate how many sessions you need relative to the amount of fat under your chin.

Treatments are spaced one month apart, and you probably won't receive more than six treatments in total.

How long will the effects of Kybella last?

As stated earlier, Kybella compromises the structural integrity of the targeted fat cells.

As a result, they can't store fat and your body eventually absorbs them. Subsequently, Kybella is a lasting treatment option: Once you've achieved your desired results, additional maintenance treatments aren't required.

If you're ready to get rid of below-the-chin fat deposits and love your profile, call or book an appointment online at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center today!

Laser Hair Reduction

If you're tired of constantly shaving, waxing, or using depilatory creams to manage unwanted body hair, laser hair reduction at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center in Houston may be the solution for you. Jessica Acosta, one of our professionals at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center, uses the innovative CynosureⓇ VectusⓇ system to reduce unwanted hair for patients with any skin or hair type. To learn more, call the office or book a consultation online today!

Laser Hair Reduction Q & A

What is laser hair reduction?

Laser hair reduction uses concentrated and carefully controlled beams of light to reduce body hair.

It's effective in almost all areas of your body, including your face, legs, arms, bikini area, underarms, and back. Spot treatments can even remove hair from smaller areas, like your ears or the tops of your toes.

How does laser hair reduction work?

The Vectus laser uses pulses of laser energy that target specific follicles over both large and small areas.

It also features a cooling system that keeps you comfortable throughout the treatment, which can take as little as five minutes.

Energy from the cutting-edge Vectus laser system penetrates your skin, and the melanin in each hair follicle absorbs this light energy.

The heat damages the follicle, preventing it from growing new hair. The Vectus laser system even features an advanced melanin reader that optimizes the procedure for your skin type and pigmentation.

Your hair follicles cycle through periods of growth and dormancy; at any given time, only about 15-40% of your hair follicles are in an active growth stage.

Laser hair reduction is most effective during the growth stage, so you might require several treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

What are the benefits of laser hair reduction?

Shaving, waxing, and other hair removal options are expensive, especially when you track those costs over time.

And unlike shaving or depilatory creams, laser hair reduction offers a long-lasting method for achieving soft, smooth skin.

Laser hair reduction does require an up-front investment

But you recover the costs in the long run: After a series of carefully timed sessions, many men and women report virtually no regrowth in the treated areas. What little regrowth does occur is so negligible that most people don't even notice it!

The aestheticians at Vintage Wellness and Aesthetics Center use the state-of-the-art, FDA-cleared Cynosure Vectus system for all laser hair reduction sessions.

Whether you have any questions or concerns about the treatment, or you're ready to begin a path toward smoother skin, call or book a consultation online today.

Non-Invasive Fat Reduction

Non-Invasive Fat Reduction Q & A

What is the UltraShape procedure?

The clinically-proven UltraShape procedure is the most widely used non-invasive solution for fat destruction and body sculpting. It uses pulsed focused ultrasound to target and reduce unwanted localized fat deposits, reduce body circumference and improve body shape. The new system also uses integrated vacuum-assisted Radio-Frequency to enhance fat cell destruction, expedite fat clearance and tighten skin.

How long will it take to see results?

After the UltraShape procedure, released contents of the broken-down fat cells are naturally cleared by the body over a 2-4 week period. Circumference and fat thickness reduction is usually seen within the first 14 - 28 days post-treatment. Maximum results are seen about 28 days post the final treatment.

How does the UltraShape technology work?

The patented UltraShape technology uses a handheld ultrasonic transducer to deliver controlled pulsed focused ultrasound at a precise depth within the fat layer. The technology is selective, meaning that only fat cells are broken down and surrounding important structures such as blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue remain intact. The treatment area is marked and each point within that designated area is treated only once to ensure complete and uniform treatment.

What happens to the fat after the UltraShape procedure?

During the UltraShape procedure, the fat cells are destroyed. The fat cell content, primarily comprised of triglycerides, is broken down and transported to the liver. The fat is processed via the body's natural mechanisms and turns into building blocks for energy.

Are there any side effects?

Extensive clinical trials and over 200,000 patient treatments performed worldwide have demonstrated the excellent safety profile of the UltraShape procedure.

Who is it for?

The UltraShape treatment has been designed to help average to overweight men and women acquire an improved body shape and contour. It offers a non-surgical alternative to patients seeking an effective reduction of localized fat deposits without surgery.

What makes the UltraShape® procedure unique?

Body sculpting with UltraShape delivers measurable, long-lasting circumference reduction in target body areas, and provides the following benefits: Non-invasive – The procedure is totally non-invasive and reduces the fat thickness and circumference of the treated area with no incisions, cannulas, injections or needles. Safe – The focused ultrasound causes a mechanical (non-thermal) effect that selectively targets and breaks down only fat cells without affecting the surrounding blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. Effective – After three sessions, patients experience an average of 4 cm reduction in body circumference. These results have been proven in clinical studies and are demonstrated in the hundreds of thousands of treatments performed worldwide. The results you experience may vary. Comfort – The vast majority of people who have undergone the UltraShape body sculpting procedure report no discomfort. There is no anesthesia or sedation required. You simply lie on the bed and the technician guides a handheld device that delivers the focused ultrasound energy over your body.

What body areas are treated?

The UltraShape treatment focuses on the abdomen, thighs ("saddle bags") and flanks ("love handles").

What results can I expect?

Clinical results show that in three treatments, patients see an average of 4 cm reduction in circumference. A three treatment regimen is recommended to achieve maximum results. As with any non-invasive procedure, the results you see may differ from the clinical trial results and patient to patient.

How long will the results last?

Just as with liposuction, once fat cells are removed from the treatment area the results are expected to be long lasting, as long as you maintain your weight with a healthy diet and exercise.

Tighten, Reduce Cellulite or Remove Fat with Venus Legacy™

Nobody wants cellulite yet so many people struggle with it every day.

One study estimates that 80% of women over the age of 20, regardless of their weight or size, are affected by cellulite. At Vintage Wellness we're proud to offer Venus Legacy™, an FDA cleared non-surgical procedure that actually helps diminish the appearance of cellulite, helps reduce the circumference of fatty areas, and tightens loose skin.

Using a hand sized device

Our Venus Legacy™ treatment combines Radio Frequency (RF) and Magnetic Pulses into a technology called (MP)² that produces a warm sensation on the skin while also providing a light massage.

In as little as 5 treatments Venus Legacy™ can contour, shape, and trim those problems areas leaving a toned and trimmer result.

What is Venus Legacy?

Venus Legacy™ is a device that generates 2 therapies at one time helping to restore collagen, which is responsible for your skin's strength and elasticity.

It also regenerates fibroblasts, which are the cells that create your skin's structure.

It creates generation of new blood cells to the area of treatment which helps to tighten the skin. The second therapy melts away fat cells, causing the skin to look smoother, as well as providing for a slimmer look.

The procedure is pain-free and does not require any cooling agents or numbing cream.

It's also faster than other comparable treatments. Treatments can be done over a lunch time and can be faster than waiting in the grocery store line up after work!

Coolsculpting by Zeltiq- clinically proven, FDA-cleared, totally non-surgical treatment without the downtime.

CoolSculpting targets fat cells alone, eliminating them in an easy, non-intrusive fashion that exercise and diet can't achieve as quickly or as effectively. Only fat cells are frozen. Your healthy skin cells remain, well, healthy. No knives. No suction hoses. No needles. No scars. Once crystallized, the fat cells die and are naturally eliminated from your body. In a few months, boom: say hello to a new you.

Unlike a lot of other procedures, CoolSculpting takes very little time and is pretty simple to fit into your daily life.

After your CoolSculpting treatment you can typically get right back to your busy day. Each treatment lasts one hour – the same time you might spend at the gym. So you can easily fit your appointment into a lunch break.

After one visit, you'll typically see a noticeable reduction of fat.

It takes a few months to fully realize the effects, mainly because it takes that long for your body to naturally dispose of the fat cells. And yes, you can lose even more with additional appointments if you and your doctor deem it necessary.

So after a few months, your clothes will fit better and you will look better.

What's more, there are no pills or supplements. And as long as you maintain your normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable. Hello, you again. How cool is that?

What is Botox?

Botox has the ability to relax muscles into which it is injected. This relaxation may be partial or complete, depending on the amount of Botox used and on the relative strength of the muscle into which it is injected. The relaxation produced by Botox can last up to 3-6 months

Which wrinkles can Botox treat?

There are two different types of wrinkles on the face: static wrinkles and dynamic wrinkles. Static wrinkles are present even with complete stillness and lack of expression on the face. Dynamic wrinkles are those that appear or become significantly more apparent with facial expression. Botox is ideal for treatment of dynamic wrinkles of the face and is used to relax those facial muscles whose excessive action causes wrinkling of the skin. For example, the deep lines between the eyebrows (frown lines) are the most popular treatment sites. Other areas which can be improved with Botox are the crow's feet and the horizontal forehead lines. Because of Dr. Pham's skill and experience, neckbands, certain lip lines, smile lines along the side of the nose, and droopy corners of the mouth may also be improved with Botox.

Who is a candidate for Botox?

Any person who wishes to minimize the aging process around the eyes and forehead region with minimal down time is an appropriate candidate for Botox injections. Botox is not recommended for women who are pregnant or are nursing.

What other cosmetic treatments may be combined with Botox?

One of the greatest combination treatments involves the simultaneous use of Botox and Restylane. With this combo treatment, an "instant face lift" may be achieved by using Botox in the brow and forehead region, and Restylane around the mouth, lips, and smile lines.

Does it hurt?

Typically no anesthetic is needed for Botox injections. A small amount of Botox is administered using a very fine needle. Most patients experience very minimal discomfort. Anesthetic creams and special cooling devices are available to increase your comfort.

How long will the results last?

Typically, it takes 4-5 days for the Botox to start to take effect, but it may take up to 2 weeks for its full effect. Results generally last between 3-6 months. As you notice the effects of the Botox wearing off call us and schedule your next appointment. We offer Botox treatments during regular office hours and can often accommodate you on the same day that you call. BOTOX® is one of the most exciting advances for the treatment of wrinkles, lines, and the aging face. BOTOX Cosmetic is a nonsurgical treatment that can minimize dynamic wrinkles, which most often appears as fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead and brow, or at the outer corners of the eyes. BOTOX® is a highly purified, naturally occurring protein which has the ability to very precisely relax the muscles to which it is applied. It works by blocking nerve impulses to between the brows. This relaxation generally lasts for 3-4 months, and then the treated muscles gradually return to their original condition. BOTOX® does not affect the nerves responsible for sensation, so there is no numbness in the treated areas. This is done in a way to not alter your natural expression and features.

Suggested Treatment Interval:

1 treatment every 3-4 months

What is Botox used to Treat?

Between Brows; Forehead Lines; Brow Lift; Crow's Feet

Botox injections are used to reduce wrinkles caused by facial expressions.

Clients request Botox to have a more relaxed refreshed appearance. Botox wrinkle treatment is a quick and minimally invasive procedure consisting of a few tiny injections for relaxing lines and wrinkles.

No anesthesia is required.

Although you may see a marked improvement, a treatment with Botox Cosmetic does not make you look like you have "had work done". You can expect to see results within 5 to 10 days after your treatment, and the visible results will last 3 to 4 months. Vintage Wellness will help you determine which options are best for you. For some clients several dermal fillers and Botox injections are used at once to obtain the desired effects. Interested in learning more about Botox?

Xeomin

What is XEOMIN?"

XEOMIN is a botulinum toxin that is used to treat adults with cervical dystonia and blepharospasm. It has been used around the world since 2005 and was introduced to the US market in 2010 by Merz Pharmaceuticals, LLC. XEOMIN is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used: To treat adults with cervical dystonia to decrease the severity of abnormal head position and neck pain; To treat abnormal spasm of the eyelids (blepharospasm) in adults who have had prior treatment with onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox®)

"What is botulinum toxin?"

Botulinum toxin is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Botulinum toxin type Athe active ingredient in XEOMINis produced commercially from C. botulinum serotype A.

"How does XEOMIN work?"

XEOMIN is injected into muscles to decrease their activity. XEOMIN blocks the release of a chemical messengeracetylcholinethat conveys the signal from nerve terminals and causes muscle fibers to contract. Not all terminals are affected by botulinum toxin, so the muscles can still contract, just less forcefully. This allows the muscles to contract more normally.

"Are all botulinum toxin products the same?"

Not all botulinum toxin products are the same. This is reflected in the unique names for each product. The dose of XEOMIN may be different from other botulinum toxin products.

"How is XEOMIN made?"

In nature, C. botulinum produces the toxin in association with accessory proteins (toxin complex). Merz takes the toxin complex and employs a proprietary manufacturing process that isolates the therapeutic component and removes the accessory proteins to produce XEOMIN.

What is Xeomin used to treat?

Between Brows; Forehead lines; Brow lift; Crow's feet

What to expect

"How is XEOMIN® administered?"

XEOMIN is injected directly into the affected muscles. The injection plan varies from person to person, depending on the number of muscles involved and the extent of their involvement.

"How many XEOMIN shots will I need for treatment?"

This also varies from person to person. Your doctor will decide how many sites to inject and the total dose per muscle based on your condition.

"How often will I need treatment with XEOMIN?"

Everyone is different. However, clinical studies suggest that it generally takes 7 days before most people begin to feel improvement. The effect generally lasts up to 12 weeks, but the effect in individual patients may be significantly longer or shorter.

"What are the most common side effects of XEOMIN?"

In the treatment of blepharospasm, the 5 most common side effects were drooping eyelid, dry eye, dry mouth, diarrhea, and headache. In the treatment of cervical dystonia, the 5 most common side effects were difficulty swallowing, neck pain, muscle weakness, injection site pain, and muscle/joint pain. XEOMIN can also cause serious side effects that can be life threatening.
